The compressor accepts still JPG, PNG, and WebP files up to 25 MB each and checks their content before decoding. HEIC results can be handed over from the HEIC converter in the same tab.
Yes. Presets provide practical targets for email, web heroes, form uploads, and smaller readable files. The compressor uses a bounded JPG quality search and reports Target not met when the requested size is not achievable without hiding that result.
Presets cap the longest edge without upscaling. The result shows when a resize was applied and keeps the original file unchanged in this browser session.
PNG output remains lossless. JPG is offered as an explicit choice because it can be smaller for opaque photographs; BrowserFiles does not silently change your selected output format.
Compressed outputs are newly encoded with metadata stripped by default. Local history stores names and result details only, never the file bytes.
